Our Selfridges Selection Afternoon Tea tea bags are a lighter blend for the afternoon, steeped in tradition. The Duchess of Bedford started the British tradition of afternoon tea, having decided on a trip to Belvoir Castle that a small meal during the afternoon was essential. A lighter tea was preferred for the afternoon so the Afternoon Tea blend was created. Our exclusive blend is made with Chinese black, Taiwanese oolong and musky Darjeeling teas.
