Ever the talented illustrator, for almost 50 years, artisan shoemaker Manolo Blahnik has been sketching his iconic shoes. One style in particular – the Hangisi ballet flats – has gained cult status, and for good reason: unlike the courts, this pair is set on a low heel and is wrapped in sparkling glitter. Shaped with the classic almond toe, they’re finished with a bejewelled buckle originally inspired by Napoleon I and Pauline Bonaparte, no less.
