GI coating on one of the lens elements. This coating is an additional defence against ghosting and flare caused by excess light bouncing around inside the lens and degrading the image. The result? Sharper shots with improved definition.
Push/pull focusing ring
Naturally, the XF16mmF1.4 R WR is beautifully made, but the focusing ring is worthy of particular note. The ring slides backwards and forwards to enable users to quickly switch between manual and autofocus; slide back for manual, slide forwards for AF.
Fast F1.4 aperture
By combining a wide angle of view with a fast maximum aperture of F1.4, the XF16mmF1.4 R WR gives you even more versatility. You can keep shooting handheld for longer in low-light conditions without resorting to a tripod, plus it is possible to create outstanding bokeh effects ensuring subjects stand out prominently from their backgrounds.
Weather-sealed construction
The XF16mmF1.4 R WR boasts a truly impressive range of weather-resistant features. A total of nine seals are positioned in eight vulnerable places around the lens to stop water and dust from getting into the body, plus these seals also help to ensure that the lens will continue to operate in temperatures down to as low as -10°C.
