In the 1940s, Cabernet Sauvignon vines were planted at the Sassicaia estate in an attempt to produce higher quality Italian wine; and so, the Super Tuscan grapes were born (or planted). Fast-forward to today, and the Tuscan grounds produce bottles like the Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto Toscana.
