The magic is in the barrels with this Imperial Gran Reserva wine – it’s aged in American and French Oak for two whole years – followed by further ageing in the winery’s century-old cellars – letting the grapes mature with delicious character as well as having quality wood impart its own flavour. The soft tannins draw out into a long finish, but not before notes of fruits of the forest, liquorice, pine, tobacco leaf and sweet spice fill the air. Enjoy yours with cheeses, red meat and fatty fish.
