For those who love the sherried styles of Macallan, GlenDronach is a great alternative. It has always been used as an important part of blended whiskies, but since BenRiach brought it out in 2008, its single malts have become a big focus. On the palate, the 8 year-old is full of crisp, vibrant oak spices, warm soaked sultanas, apricot jam and gingerbread; all rounded by delicate hints of butterscotch, cocoa and toasted almonds.
