Though Chateau Palmer’s Margaux is officially classified as a 3ème Cru Classé, it’s widely regarded as a Super Second—meaning it actually approaches the quality of a First Growth. It’s no surprise, really—the estate is regarded as the top in the appellation, and its heritage dates back to 1814 when British Office Charles Palmer first bought the vineyards. The 2017 vintage carries staggeringly high points from critics, and offers aromas of black fruit and violets.
